Chaiselongue: an invitation to rest and relax

The word "chaiselongue" comes from the French and translated means something like "long chair". Thus, the meaning of the word also shows the original function of this furniture, which originally functioned primarily as furniture for sitting. The first time the term "chaise longue" appeared in the 18th century in France. The chaise longue originated from the fauteuil extended by a so-called tabouret. These two elements combined over time to form a piece of furniture - the chaise longue - from which, incidentally, also emerged the so-called récamière and the "modern chaise longue". A chaise longue is characterized in particular by the fact that it is a rather low, upholstered seating and reclining furniture - and usually for one person. A chaise longue is also known by the name of a resting or day bed, which is primarily intended for relaxing with a short nap, for example. Of course, it is also suitable for other uses: to relax on it and enjoy an exciting book or a glass of wine. Often, a chaise longue is also used as a guest bed - but this is more for indoor use. In the meantime, the chaise longue has become rather rare in the home, although a chaise longue can also be a beautiful piece of furniture, especially in the garden area or on the terrace and balcony.

A chaise longue can be made of a variety of materials

Some chaise longues, due to their materials, are suitable only for indoor use, for example, for the living room. But if the material is suitable, it is excellent for outdoor use, which is especially the case with furniture from the premium segment. One is the perfect lounger for the garden and also fits perfectly in a lounge area in the garden, on the terrace or the balcony. Especially for outdoor use, a sturdy synthetic fiber is a great material to use. An excellent example of this is the Dedon fiber, which is one of the most comfortable industrially produced textiles and is also weatherproof, extremely durable and environmentally friendly to boot. Perfect for its processing, moreover, is that the fiber is flexible and thus offers the decisive advantage that good weavers can further process this material into particularly artistic patterns. Thus, you can easily place your chaise lounge made of Dedon fiber by a pool area or near a sea - this is absolutely no problem for this fiber. It will always remain presentable even in difficult outdoor conditions and, what's more, it will feel extremely comfortable.

A special chaise longue from the Dedon MU collection

Among the beautiful chaise lounges is definitely the Dedon MU chaise longue, which, moreover, can be combined with other furniture from this collection to create a harmonious overall look in the garden. The MU collection from Dedon is one of the highest quality outdoor lounge furniture for outdoor use with comfortable seating characteristics and compact dimensions, as well as weather-resistant materials. The frame is made of powder-coated aluminum, the weave of the environmentally friendly and high-quality Dedon fiber. Visually, the chaise longue also impresses with its clarity.
