Nepal Carpets
Nepal Carpets
Nepal Carpets are made exclusively in Nepal, but not only by Nepalese. Numerous Tibetans have also found refuge in the neighboring country and are involved in the production. Both countries have a long tradition in knotting carpets and correspondingly many skilled workers who still know the old techniques.
Nepal Carpets are always knotted by hand and are therefore of excellent quality. In most cases they are made of pure new wool, which is often the particularly high-quality highland wool. However, small admixtures of other natural raw materials such as bamboo or hemp fibers or fine silk are also popular. This admixture is mainly for optical reasons, because the fibers give the carpets a soft sheen or make the pattern stand out even better. Glossy fibers can also make the color of the carpet slightly change. Since almost exclusively natural fibers are used, Nepal Carpets are also ideally suited for households with allergy sufferers. Another advantage for sensitive people is the usually short pile, in which only little dust and dirt gets caught and through which the carpet can be easily kept clean.
Traditional Nepal Carpets have a pattern reminiscent of the oriental carpets. However, for export to other countries, the Nepalese and Tibetans now also produce many plain carpets and floor coverings with subtle patterns. Accordingly, the selection is large, so that in the meantime a beautiful Nepal Carpets can be found for every preference and suitable for any interior.
