Flexible seating with higher need for extra space
Benches are such versatile seating furniture that the right model is available for any interior. A bench is a seat extended in length, which can accommodate several people. They are characterized by their great flexibility, because the exact number of seats is not predetermined. Depending on the need, young and old slide together to leave place for another seat neighbor. Visually, benches usually present themselves in a rather simple design. Their structure is always similar: in addition to the seat, which is often upholstered and covered, benches consist of the frame or legs and, if necessary, backrests for the back and arms. Some benches are additionally equipped with a storage space under the seat. Accessories such as cushions not only increase the seating comfort, but also set pretty decorative accents.
Popular seating furniture for indoors and outdoors
Benches come in a wide variety of sizes and colors. Brown, gray, beige, black and natural are among the most commonly used tones. A bench rarely sets accents by signal or other striking colors, but often presents itself stylish, elegant or neutral. Manufacturers such as Bielefelder Werkstätten, Conmoto, Lambert, Weishäupl, Kettal and Dedon use tried and tested materials, primarily wood and metal, for their high-quality benches. Textiles and leather serve as covers, while white upholstery provides comfortable and soft seating. If bed benches are placed at the end of the bed in the bedroom, dining and corner benches find their place in the dining room. However, chest and upholstered benches can also be integrated into a living room. For the hallway, on the other hand, there are practical shoe benches. Last but not least, manufacturers have weatherproof models for gardens and terraces in their portfolio.
