Dining room chairs - from classic to modern

Chairs for the dining room or a dining area in the living room are now available in numerous designs. For these pieces of furniture, manufacturers use very different materials, from wood to synthetic materials. The choice in terms of design is just as wide. From classic wooden chairs to chairs in a purist design, all variants are therefore represented.

Popular for a long time: wooden chairs for the dining area

The classic dining chair has a frame made of wood and an upholstered seat with a cover, usually with a choice of several colors and fabrics. Wood species such as oak, beech or ash are often used for these chairs because they are flexible and sturdy at the same time. In addition, they have a very beautiful grain. Wooden frames can retain their natural shade and only be treated with a protective varnish or wax. Just as well they can be stained, lacquered and visually designed in other ways.

Modern and robust: dining chairs with metal frames

Metal frames are also frequently used for chairs. They look very light compared to wooden frames, because with them a smaller diameter is enough to achieve the necessary stability. Metal frames can be well combined with many other materials. Therefore, in this section you can find models with seats and backs made of leather, synthetics, wood or metal as well. This group also includes cantilever chairs, which adapt to the movements of the body and thus provide a high level of comfort.

Very cozy: furniture with seats and backrests made of wickerwork

A particularly cozy atmosphere can be created with furniture made of woven materials. Natural rattan and synthetic fibers, which are robust and easy to clean, are suitable for this purpose. Artificial fibers also have the advantage that they can be made in any color shade. In the case of wicker seating furniture, the frames are usually also made of metal. However, in many cases they are not visible.
