The basic elements

Decisive for the appearance and also the life span of a sunshade are the basic elements: Frame, covering and stand. There are different types of frames for the classic umbrellas presented here. Of course, in the traditional form, the frame is made of wood, be it specially impregnated hardwood or first-class teak, which is particularly suitable for this purpose. A more modern alternative is a frame made of sturdy aluminum. There are many options for the covering: Basically, it consists of DOLAN ®, which is resistant and convinces with its high color and light fastness. This one hundred percent acrylic fabric is weatherproof, hard-wearing, dimensionally stable, does not rot, is extremely easy to clean and very tear-resistant. With this material you can realize a lot of design possibilities. In fact, it is available in a total of 44 colors and colored patterns. Weishäupl also uses DOLAN ® for many cushions and upholstery; so you can beautifully coordinate the umbrella and the upholstery of your garden furniture. The stability of the umbrellas is ensured by the installation options and stands specially developed by Weishäupl: either a suitable ground socket to be set in concrete, or appropriately sized feet, which are available in various materials - concrete, granite or steel.

Accessories

Parasols belonging to the category of classics can usually be supplemented with suitable and practical accessories. Regarding the covering, each umbrella has as standard at its top an air hood; this increases the air circulation under the umbrella. For some types of umbrellas additional valances can be ordered: flounces around the edge of the umbrella, which look very decorative and strengthen the shade. As a supplement to these flounces - and only together with them - you can also get persennings, floor-length side walls made of fabric, which protect against light, wind and view; with persennings attached all around, your umbrella becomes a small pavilion in a charming way. The folding mechanism, which can be ordered additionally for a number of models up to a certain size, also serves to reinforce the sun protection and allows you to tilt the umbrella roof. Very helpful - for many umbrellas standard, for some to be ordered additionally - are pulleys, very practical, sturdily constructed aids, which significantly facilitate the opening and closing of the umbrella. Finally, a very useful and helpful addition are the Weishäupl protective covers, which can be ordered for all models. These covers, made of beige synthetic fabric, have a zipper and are effortlessly pulled over the closed umbrella with the help of a rod. They provide excellent protection against weather and dirt.
