ClassiCon PLI side table topaz-green high
ClassiCon, the Munich-based house of fine furnishings, carries in its carefully cultivated portfolio furniture that are classics or that clearly promise to become such. Among these, without question, is the PLI collection by young French designer Victoria Wilmotte. These side tables are charmingly playful and at the same time clearly formulated entities, which in their elegant formal balance never deny their function as storage. They effortlessly manage the balancing act of being both beautiful, useful living objects and small sculptural works of art.
The PLI side table - presented here in the tall version with topaz-green color scheme - has an overall slightly slanted base made of precisely folded and highly polished stainless steel sheet, whose narrow stripes are reminiscent of a crystalline structure. The metal is dyed in a special process that creates a fascinating shimmering surface. On this base sits - at the same time as an optical counterweight - the oval table top made of colored crystal glass.
The elegant table looks convincing placed individually or in a grouping. To protect its lower edge and the floor, it has black felt glides. Maintenance is easy, but should definitely avoid any abrasive or harsh cleaning products.
