The butter dish - practical and beautiful

Butter dishes ensure that the butter can be stored outside the refrigerator and therefore remains spreadable. They are therefore an important accessory for all people who like to eat a hearty breakfast. But they are just as often used for afternoon coffee or tea. A butter dish does not therefore necessarily have to be part of a breakfast service. With its neutral design, it can be combined with a variety of tableware and is therefore flexible in its use.

The materials: ceramic and glass

Butter dishes are often made of ceramic, which is ideal for storing food. They are still made by hand in porcelain factories with a sense of tradition and, if a decoration is intended, they are also lovingly painted by hand. Popular decorations are stripes, dots, check patterns and figurative representations. Another material that is often used is glass. It is characterized by equally positive characteristics.

The small version for half a piece of butter

The size of a butter dish is usually reduced to the size of a standard 250 g piece of butter. However, there are also tins available that have space for half a piece of butter. They are very suitable for small households and as equipment for the summer months with high temperatures. They allow you to keep half of the butter in the refrigerator until you consume it.
