Independent, self-contained design, unconditional attention to detail and the greatest care in craftsmanship, which takes the material seriously - these are the principles of Conde House, which are implemented in its own manufactory in Asahikawa, in the north of Japan. Traditional handicraft methods, the sustainable use of the basic material, wood and other selected materials in combination with the use of the most modern processing technology make it possible to create unique objects in wood.

Conde House - woodworking in perfection

The Japanese furniture culture is essentially based on the natural material wood. On this basis, Conde House has risen to become one of the best solid wood furniture manufacturers in the world. The most commonly used wood species are walnut, white oak, maple or birch. Particularly striking is the attention paid to the interesting grains, the "image" of the wood. It remains clearly visible even after processing and finishing. Many table tops, for example, are cut from a log, opened up like a book and joined together in mirror image. This creates a unique symmetry in the grain and thus in the visual appearance of the piece of furniture. Conde House impresses with hand-brushed surfaces, intricate wood joints and design down to the last detail.

Clarity and purism of the Bauhaus combined with Japanese perfection: The designs of the German designer Peter Maly, made especially for Conde House, impress with their reduction and precision. The line concept of this refined, simple furniture is determined by clear functionality. The Tosai collection, for example, combines selected solid wood in exciting material contrast with stainless steel to create captivating new forms. Other collections, such as the Barringer coffee tables by Atilla Kuzu, give the impression that a European designer has fully embraced the Japanese way of life and the resulting furniture style.
