Riedel

The foundation for today's internationally renowned Riedel glass empire was laid in the early 18th century by Johann Christoph Riedel in northwestern Bohemia. In the period before the Second World War, Walter Riedel, in the 8th generation, led the company to become a world leader in crystal, technical glass, glassware and embroidery beads and was awarded the Grand Prix at the 1937 World's Fair in Paris. After the expropriation at the end of the war and the return of Walter Riedel from Russian captivity, the family settled in Kufstein with the help of the friendly Swarovskis and took over a glassworks. There the production of mouth-blown glassware began.

Riedel glasses - mouth-blown glass in premium quality

Today's success of the worldwide known company is based on the invention of Georg J. Riedel (10th generation), who developed a particularly thin glass according to the Riedel company philosophy of innovation and quality. With the crystal glass series "Vinum" he introduced the first crystal glasses to the market that were produced by machine. In the meantime, the family business is managed in the 11th generation by Maximilian Josef Riedel, who is also active as a designer. He has designed numerous series of glasses and decanters, for which he has received prestigious design awards.

Especially in the field of decanters he brought a total innovation to the market with his double decanter "Eve" and received a German patent and several awards for it. With its headquarters in Kufstein and several international subsidiaries, Riedel's success story continues. In Europe as well as in the non-European markets, the demand for the particularly high-quality Riedel glassware is increasing.
