Parasol stand - indispensable part for the use of the parasol

Whatever parasol you own, it must ensure a good and stable stand for safe use of the umbrella. For this, you can either use a ground sleeve or use a suitable parasol stand.

Ground sleeves - stable and a stationary stand

Probably the safest way to set up a parasol in a stable way is to use a ground sleeve. Such a sleeve is usually made of stainless steel and often has two parts. The lower part of the sleeve is embedded in the ground and set in concrete. The umbrella is then simply inserted into the sleeve and locked in place. More convenient designs have a removable upper part into which the umbrella is inserted. The advantage of these designs is that when not in use and the upper part is removed, the cover is flush with the ground and does not interfere. At the same time it serves as an anti-theft device. Since a ground sleeve is permanently installed, its location should be chosen carefully. Some of our customers also use two sleeves concreted in different places, so that they can change the location of the umbrella.

Umbrella stand - mobile, stable, variable in forms

The other method of placing a parasol is to use an umbrella stand. Clear advantage of such a stand is that its location is not fixed. The umbrella stand can be moved; in the case of very large stand variants, it is also possible to use rollers, which make it easier to adjust. In addition, some manufacturers also offer carrying aids for very large umbrella stands.

An umbrella stand is offered in various shapes and materials. The simplest material variant is concrete. Used here is usually iron-reinforced concrete, which has sufficient stability. Often the concrete mass is dyed with a certain color.

The stable material granite in various forms is often used for the umbrella stand. The surfaces are often available in several variants, for example, polished or flamed. What is attractive about such umbrella stands is the lively surface of the material.

A particularly noble way to secure the stand of a parasol is to use an umbrella stand made of steel. The wide plate, usually a square surface, in which the umbrella sleeve is embedded, looks quite elegant.

It should be added that some - special - types of umbrellas need their very special and designed for the model umbrella stand. For example, a half-umbrella is not placed in a stand, but attached to the wall with a special device. We have clearly noted such special forms in these umbrellas and will be happy to consult with you.

Umbrella stand - pay attention to the right dimensions!

Important for an umbrella stand is not only its appearance, but above all its safe and functioning use. On the one hand, it should be chosen in a sufficient weight, so that the umbrella is really stable. In the case of umbrellas that have a less stable balance due to a bending mechanism or an eccentrically attached trunk - as in the case of traffic light umbrellas - it is especially important to choose a firm anchoring with a ground sleeve or an especially large dimensioned umbrella stand. This is also true when using umbrellas in locations that are more exposed to wind. When choosing a larger umbrella stand, it is then often interesting if there is a possibility of movement by means of rollers.
